The plot-line is nonsensical, as the idea is that the elephants get lonely when the little girl goes on errands so they look for more elephant friends--yet all the elephants end up joining the girl anyway. Also, the ending is pretty upsetting. I guess the girl doesn't like elephants as much as she thought. The poor meter and forced rhyming don't help the book much.
