**AN ARC WAS GRACIOUSLY PROVIDED FOR AN HONEST REVIEW. ALL OPINIONS ARE MY OWN**
I gotta say when it comes to the authors that are published under Entangled, I have been quite a fan of their shapeshifter books I've come across. Even though Bitten Under Fire went a different direction than other shifter books I have read, I still found it rather enjoyable. This was a first time read from Heather Long and I have become completely entranced with her writing and Bitten Under Fire definitely won't be the last book I'll read by her.
Now I bet you're wondering why I mentioned that this book went in a different direction than others I have read. To me, Bitten Under Fire felt like it was completely focused on something that Bianca was going through and the romance (of course) between Cage and her. With other shifter stories, I'm so used to them being action packed, so I think that's what forced me to look at this book in a completely different way.
With Cage essentially being a part of a special forces team in the Marine Corps, on a rescue mission was the first time he first set eyes on Bianca. It wasn't just her beauty that caught his eye, but her instincts to protect a child that wasn't hers. And it was this very moment that he could probably do anything to get this woman to safety and protect her. Probably a lot longer than he bargained for, but I don't see him complaining anytime soon.
I admired Bianca's character so much, she was strong and I loved her complete loyalty to the child she was protecting. And I found her personality rather easy-going even if she did have tendencies to keep to herself, which made me a bit sad at times. But I loved how Cage was able to sneak into her daily routine especially since he decided to move across the street from her. As much as I would love to go into detail about why he did that, you're just going to have to pick up your own copy and find out for yourself.
The romance between these two had an easy and natural pace, which made it totally real to me. I was hoping for more with the plot and definitely wishing for more of Cage and Bianca's story. I felt like there's still so much to share about them, which I hope we'll get more off with the other books to come.
Definitely adding this series to my TBR because I'm looking forward to reading more from Heather Long.
