I must admit my decision to read and review Suspicion at Sea was based on three things:
1. It was a romantic suspense- One of my favourite genres.
2. The cover- It was totally hot.
3. The Blurb-It alluded to an exciting and suspenseful story.
I am not familiar with the author’s work so I was going in blind with the hope that the story would live up to my expectations.
Now my feelings on this were mixed. I love the plot and I loved how the story flowed. The prologue grabbed my attention and it sets the pace for the rest of the story. However, I did not like how everything was wrapped up. Personally, I felt that more focus was spent on Justin and Ellie’s relationship and not enough spent on solving the mystery. I felt that the aspects relating to solving the mystery were rushed. The motives of the villains were clear. However, I was hoping that Justin and Ellie would have been able to confront the main instigators and be able to get some closure seeing that the actions of these persons that turned their life upside down.
I never cared much for Justin. I agree he was physically attractive, however, the way he behaved got on my nerves. He treated Ellie, who is a trained FBI agent, as if she was helpless. I understand wanting to protect the one you love, but I do believe he was over the top. Then there was his jealousy which I found too extreme. I hated how he was quick to judge her when he found out about the things she had to do while working undercover, especially knowing that his past was not without blemish. I could relate to Ellie’s pain of losing her parents and I totally understood the lengths she went through to solve their murders. Although I could not tolerate his behaviour, I loved the initial interaction between him and Ellie. I found it funny and engaging. It had me smiling just picturing him trying to get her attention and she playing hard to get. I enjoyed reading about the supporting characters. I loved the fact that it was not easy to figure out who was good from who was bad. I liked the fact that the story was told from alternate POVs as it helped me to know what the characters were thinking.
To sum up this story was sensual, exciting, interesting and engaging. It pulls you in from the start and holds your attention to the end. If you love stories filled with romance, mystery, intrigue and strong female characters, then this book is for you. I would definitely read more of this author's work.

I've have met some amazing woman on my journey so far, and have learned so much. (Sometimes the hard way.) I've been like a sponge soaking up all the information I can on how the publishing world works. It's been a rollercoaster ride with its ups and its downs.
No matter what, I will never regret anything I've done. You can't succeed if you don't try, and if you don't try you won't succeed. One of my favorite quotes "If the dream is big enough the facts don't matter".
Some other info about me, I love my family, friends, wine and anything caffeinated. I also love writing HEA. For the same reason I won't watch a movie that I know will make me cry, (with the exception of Steel Magnolias) I will never write a book without a HEA. There might be a few twists and turns, a cliffhanger or two. But ultimately my stories will leave you feeling warm and fuzzy inside. For me, reading is entertainment, a way to escape this crazy insane world. If a book leaves me feeling sad, mad or gut wrenched, it is not for me. There is enough gut-wrenching sadness in this world, I don't need to read about it too.
I started writing four years ago, and have no plans on stopping. So keep your eye on me because with the help of some amazing people and my wonderful fans, this girl is going to be on the New York Times bestselling list someday.
