London. May 1889. After discovering the identity of Jack the Ripper and preventing a diplomatic incident involving Otto Von Bismarck, Cullen Moffat and John Batchelor set up a private investigation company in the heart of Soho, London. Cullen meets his old Colonel from the Crimea who is now Head of The Liverpool Cotton Association. The Colonel needs their help and engages them to investigate a problem in his offices. They travel to Liverpool and inadvertently stumble upon murder and intrigue in the cotton trade. A deteriorating situation leads them from Liverpool to New Orleans and involves both The White House and Downing Street. Once again, Cullen Moffat's experience as a military policeman is utilised, aided and assisted by John Batchelor's unconventional social manners and Uriah Garrett's journalistic skills. With time running out, can they prevent an international incident which threatens to bring down both the American and British Government.
