France. September 1940. The Lime Street Irregulars are back. This time Churchill, advised by Charles de Gaulle, sends the inept Scouse criminals into occupied France to rescue the Mona Lisa. But there are several unanswered questions. Why is this painting now so important to the Allies? And why are Adolf Hitler and Hermann Goring so interested in it? Deep into occupied France they rescue a fifteen-year-old boy from the Germans. But is he what he seems to be? And how do the Gestapo appear to know their every move? Only when they get their hands on the Mona Lisa do they realise they have been set up. Have they been double crossed by Churchill and De Gaulle? And if they have what can they do about it? It's a certainty they'll think of something. And, of course, they do. But the Allies are not going to like it. And neither are are the Germans.
