Cleef Morgan was a Pinkerton detective at the top of his grim career so it came as no surprise when he was sent after Scrag Hanton, the killer and bank robber. Hanton died resisting arrest and so Morgan had succeeded again. But that was only the beginning for then the call from Turkey Creek came and Morgan was faced with a mystery that had baffled the local lawmen.
