"Private Lives" by Noel Coward was published in published in 1930. It is a comedy of manners in three acts.

The play initially toured the British provinces, and then it opened at the new Phoenix Theater in London in 1930.

During its London performance the star cast included Coward, Gertrude Lawrence, Adrianne Allen and Laurence Olivier.

After one year, the Broadway production was launched. Since its Broadway production in 1931, the play has been revived at least half a dozen times each in the West End and on Broadway.
