I loved Monster and Sophie! I really liked how the magic in the book was unique. I don't think I've ever read about a person who could drink other people's dreams and make elements appear in reality.
I also liked how close Sophie was to her parents. A lot of books tend to have the parents more of an after-thought almost. With not much of a relationship between the kid and the adults. But Sophie's parents were involved in her life, and included her in some of the running of the Dream Shop.
The ending of the book was a bit too open for me though. It totally sounds like it's setting up for another book in the series. (And if there isn't going to be one, then I'll be even more sad.) It's not listed as a series from what I can see, but I have so many questions! I want to know what the last dream was of the girl in the end of the book. I want to know what happened to the girl Sophie meets in Dr. Nightmare's house. What happens during Sophie's training? Does she ever drink any more dreams? Where did the bunnies go?
You will need tissues towards the end of the book, a few times at least. Monster was my favorite character, though I liked Sophie and her parents as well as Ethan as well.
All the twists in the book were fun and I couldn't wait to read what was going to happen next. Over-all I really enjoyed this book. If you haven't read it yet you need to do so!
