It explains the way in which the National Curriculum works, how the tests are structured, and which knowledge and skills a child is expected to have acquired. The book contains a wide range of questions for the child to practise, written in the style of the actual tests. The answers are contained in a seperate section at the back of the book, with full advice to the parent on how children should approach the tests, and on what makes a good answer. There is also a mark scheme which indicates how marks are allocated, and what is expected of children who achieve levels 3-6.
