This is a report about young people, and the experience of growing up in a family with a limited income. Other similiar reports are available, but all too often they are a result of studies done with those who are homeless or estranged from their families. The difference is that this report is based on those that are living at home with their families and secondly, the facts are revealed through the voice of the young people themselves. This report clearly documents the detrimental effect of a limited income on young people, in terms of its implications for their health, leisure and social lives, education and future prospects. Finally, some general conclusions are made about the experiences of young people who live with their families in poverty, focusing on the practical and policy outcomes of the current study.
