This is a collection of stories about the escapades of two rival gangs by a Smarties prizewinner. The gigantic Macmillan, his sidekick Bo-Jeddy and little Quinn are the Dump Gang. Their deadly enemies are the Bonzos - Big Boots, Meatface, Ratso and the rest. Then there's Josie Swab, who's not in either gang but can make mincemeat of them both. The Bonzos are big and strong, but the Dump Gang has got the edge in the brains department, thanks mainly to Quinn. These tip-top stories tell of the gang's entertaining escapades with pink trousers, girlfriends, crash drivers, mushrooms and much more! Martin Waddell has won the Smarties Book Prize twice, for "Farmer Duck" and "Can't You Sleep. Little Bear?". He has also won the 1989 Kurt Maschler Award for "The Park in the Dark", and the 1990 Best Book for Babies Award for "Rosie's Babies". He has also written, under the pseudonym Catherine Sefton, "Beat of the Drum", "Frankie's Story" and "Starry Night", which won the 1986 Other Award. It was also shortlisted for the Guardian Children's Fiction Award, as was "Along a Lonely Road" (shortlisted for the 1992 Smarties Book Prize).
His other titles are "Fred the Angel", "Our Sleepysaurus", "Little Obie and the Flood" and "Little Obie and the Kidnap".
