Dave is a successful, married, businessman, who loves women. He has everything men his age want, but his wife, of twenty-six years has lost interest in sex. He is slowly drawn into a world of on line chat rooms and internet dating. His actions attract a stalking, psychotic, murderer, and creates havoc in his and other people's lives.
One night, Dave is 'playing' in a chat-room, with a married woman, Melanie, when the police arrive. Another woman he had sex with four nights previously has been murdered, and he is the prime suspect. His alibi seems to discount him, and he thinks that his secret life won't come out. However, the next night, after Dave leaves Melanie's home, she is also murdered, and Dave's only alibi then is his wife, Dianne.
Dave must tell Dianne of his infidelities, but while in the shower she is murdered too and he is arrested for three murders he did not commit.
Wracked with guilt Dave must fight for his freedom, but the murderer is still stalking him, and anyone else he gets close to
