When Larry Ashfield travels from England to Buzzard's Bend in Arizona to claim his inheritance, he finds that the town's shyster lawyer, Cliff Makins, has cheated him out of it. The young, peaceable Englishman is unaccustomed to the rough, tough, Wild West, and most people in town write him off as a fool and a coward.
