Caitiebelle

I am a really huge fan of the secret baby trope/surprise pregnancy trope - so when I came across this book I just had to have a looksie. :)
This is my first experience with Olivia Gates, and it's a little bit of a mouthful. The way she writes is...well it's not similar at all to what you will most likely find in many of today's more modern books in the same trope, let's say it that way.
In good Harlequin style, scenes and thoughts are produced using quite an extensive language and descriptions, hehe. But it works and you do get used to it.
It did grate on me a little bit though that our dear female main character is so quick to panic and think the worst, never really letting Aris explain anything before she believed the worst of him.
It also frustrates me when I am not told clearly what people do for business, I had no idea for quite some time in the book what the rivalry was about or what the two parties did.
All in all, I did enjoy the book, it had many good pages and they did outnumber the taxing ones, so I'm giving it a solid 4. :)
