Funny enough, being a writer was not my first choice career. I remember seeing an advert when I was about 7, about a woman flying around the world. I asked my mom what job that was? It mesmerised me for a few months and there was nothing in the world that could change my mind. I was going to be an air hostess when I grew up, and that was that. Though around the age of 12, my school had a prom, and I needed to go to the salon. I barely remember the stylist doing my hair, because the entire time I was watching other girls/woman of all ages getting their hair styled. So many styles from cutting up do's for weddings and mini flowers in between intricate folds of hair. Naturally, I now wanted to be a stylist for the rest of my life. It was just so cool. A few years later, after my first heartbreak, I started writing my feelings down, sobbing, thinking it was the end of the world of course. Didn't notice at first that I had rhymed some sentences without even thinking about it. As time went by, I wrote about everything, happiness, sadness, anger, etc. I wrote more feelings that I spoke about out loud. Though I only wrote for myself. Until I needed extra pocket money and exploited my ability to rhyme, and wrote quite a few "Roses are red, violets are blue" poems for kids on Valentines day. The love for writing grew in secret, with only my close friends and family knowing I could. This is my leap of faith I hope you find the words you need from my work.
