Wiesbaden, 1951. Al Café del Ángel le ha salido competencia. Junto al tradicional establecimiento de la familia Koch ha abierto otro más moderno: el Café del Rey. Mientras Hilde Koch intenta en vano convencer a sus padres para que modernicen el local, su gran amor, por el que tanto ha luchado, parece a punto de resquebrajarse.
A su hermano August tampoco le van mejor las cosas. Cuando regresa a Alemania, tras haber sido prisionero de guerra de los rusos, comienza a sentirse atraído precisamente por una misteriosa joven rusa, cuya llegada amenaza con dividir a la familia...

Wiesbaden, 1951. The Angel Cafe suddenly has competition. Next to the Koch family’s traditional establishment, a more modern place recently opened: The King Cafe. While Hilde Koch tries in vain to convince her parents to renovate the place, their enormous love, for which they have fought so hard, seems on the verge of shattering.
Things are not going so well for her brother, August, either. Upon his return to Germany after being a Russian prisoner of war, he finds himself drawn precisely to a mysterious Russian young woman, whose arrival threatens to split the family in two...
