The Blood and the Wind

Book 1
A kingdom torn by civil war. A world where magic was thought to be lost forever, until now. Prophecies of the dangers that lurk in the shadows.
In a world where he’s never truly felt welcome, Aren Aryssen has forever longed to go home. To belong. To fulfil his duty to the Crown. When his dreams turn to reality, he is thrust deep into the heart of a kingdom at the brink of rebellion, with few to trust. Eyan Ashcrest, on the other hand, was once Aren's friend. Now, he fights in his father's revolution. Laris Hontren does not want for much, he leads a simple life, nothing like the pompous nobles of the city. When the streets are painted with the blood of innocents, he is driven to help those he'd never before have given two thoughts. In the far north, Rhedas Sandaerzi vows to serve the North Parydon to seek worship and fulfilment with his fellow Sandaerian brothers. Little do they know, though, Rhedas has dreams, just as his mother once did. Visions of the great peril that awaits the realm. He is shunned as a madman, but he knows that Aren Aryssen will have a role to play, they all will.
While the rising threat of the bluecoat rebels looms in the south, in the far north the Sandaerian worshippers rally around Develyn Asellar, a healer prophesied to bring the dawn and end their suffering. As each character comes to terms with the immense pressure placed upon them in this new world, a darker, more ominous danger threatens the realm.
