A huge, sprawling epic fantasy series.
Book 1
The Truth is a weak thing. It has no power. The only power the Truth holds is the power we grant it.
For six hundred years, the kingdom of Wahrheit was ruled by an unbroken line. It rose on a wave of technology and magic and stood alone—a bastion of stability built on pillars of economic and military might. The nation and her people thrived due to the strength of soldiers and the protection of dragons.
But the line has ended—the king is dead.
Noble houses vie to carve out their own domains. Foreign armies march across Wahrheit’s soil for the first time in memory. Without leadership, the king’s army watches helplessly. The fae, a source of enchantment and treachery, work unseen to secure their share of Wahrheit’s blood. And far beyond the kingdom’s borders, a growing threat looms—an empire built to right a bitter wrong.
Only a small band of conspirators stand between the kingdom and chaos: Otto Tilly, captain of the king’s Dragon Knights, the steel fist that shields the weak. Gerhard Fisher, a spy and assassin, who owes more than his life to the former king. Ilse Brinke, the quartermaster, the keeper of the kingdom’s secrets and magic. The wizard, an ancient soul who understands the cost of failure. And by fortune’s curse or fortune's favor, two orphans from the growing war must carry the kingdom forward. As has always been, the burden of the future lies across the shoulders of the young.
Book 2
The Truth is a weak thing. It has no power. The only power the Truth holds is the power we grant it.
The might of nations rises and falls with the same, inexorable certainty of the oceans. Powers, unseen and unknown, push and pull, with relentless determination. The currents that shape the world are easily ignored, until the waters rise, and the people drown.
In the Kingdom of Wahrheit, the tide has turned, and the water is rising.
A new ruler sits upon an ancient throne. Foreign nations, for centuries cowed by the strength of Wahrheit’s dragons and her armies, rise in defiance to throw off the old order. Fae, some thought to be nothing more than myth, stride Wahrheit’s fields and her council chambers. Within the kingdom, there are those who see the disruption as weakness, and weakness as opportunity. There are wrongs to be righted. Blood to be spilled. All in the pursuit of revenge.
There are those who could defy the call and stand against the tide of violence and blood. Six paladins, chosen by Fortune, or so it’s claimed. They are like the moon or the stars—ignorant of the power they exert upon the world. They follow the path chosen for them, and if their passing brings joy or sorrow, they know nothing but their journey.
That is the Truth. Their fate. Unless they can shatter the bindings of ancient law and forge a Truth of their own.
Book 3
The Truth is a weak thing. It has no power. The only power the Truth holds is the power we grant it.
The conspiracy is over. A deep draught was taken from the bitter cup of revenge. But not all is what it seems. Deceptions, new and old, unfold in this dramatic third book in the WAHRHEIT series.
Book 4
On the brink of a continent spanning war, the paladins of the Kingdom of Wahrheit learn the greatest thread has been lurking within their own walls. A sacred trust, upon which the very foundation of the kingdom was built, turns into the deepest betrayal. Institutions collapse, and the weight of the kingdom rests on the weary backs of the paladins.
The hope of the world is lost, but the world of men is not the only world. A courageous few seek help from the realms of the fae, but how can men have faith in those whose every breath is treachery?
For centuries, the fall of the kingdom and of the race of men has been foretold. The strongest arms and the most cunning minds are powerless to stop it. The future is known. But the only power the Truth holds is the power we grant it. To save the world from the worst of the fae and the betrayal that struck at the very heart of Wahrheit, the paladins must come together to forge a Truth of their own.
