Light & Shadow
4 primary works Complete
Book 1
“Do you have a name?” she queried politely.
“Caliginous,” he told her. “You may call me Cal. Or Calin.”
Her lips pursed. “Cal. Calin. Caliginous. As in dark, misty,” she mused. “…also opaque. Difficult to understand.”
“Indeed.” The creature smiled.
Alexis is hard-wired to fight, to protect, to hunt anything that might pose a threat for her world. Gods, monsters, demons, vampires, inter-dimensional bad guys – Alexis deals with them all.
And yeah, okay, it makes her a bit of an oddball.
Being the rich owner of a chain of sex clubs doesn’t help as much as you might think. Her best friends, a werewolf and a half-fae, think she needs to have more fun, maybe even date a little… but Alexis can’t be bothered. She’s looking for someone who can match her, and when you can throw full-grown alpha werewolf across the room by yourself, that’s not as easy as it sounds.
Then Caliginous appears. One of the mysterious race of beings known as “Travelers,” he proves more challenging than most. Alexis might have finally met her match, in more ways than one.
Unfortunately, he’s come to tell her it might be the end of the world.
Someone is murdering Lightbringers.
The portals are all opening. Dark forces overwhelm the gates.
The Traveler, Cal, claims he’s there to help her. Travelers historically helped and spied for the Lightbringers before, sliding in and out of dimensions, helping to patrol the portals, infiltrating, observing, nudging, reporting back what they found.
But Cal isn’t an ordinary Traveler.
And he might have an agenda of his own.
LIGHTBRINGER is Book #1 in a brand new series by USA TODAY and WALL STREET JOURNAL bestselling author, JC Andrijeski. For fans of urban fantasy, paranormal romance, and supernatural suspense.
Book 2
Alexis, ‘Lexi, ‘Lex, Lightbringer…
Whatever they once called her, she is no more.
Trapped in another dimension by a magical, twisted, and maddeningly persuasive being, Alexis soon realizes he wants her to help him destroy entire worlds. Alexis becomes his living key to pass through the portals, allowing him to open them up to the corruption of dark beings known only as “The Others.”
No one knows what The Others truly want, but everywhere they go, they enslave planets, bending entire cultures, entire histories to their will.
The king who kidnapped her doesn’t care about any of that.
For him, The Others are only a means to an end.
He has his own agenda, one Alexis must discover if she ever hopes to escape him and stop The Others from imposing darkness on all the known worlds. If her captor, the king, succeeds in handing control of the dimensions to these beings, he will destroy everything Alexis’s mother raised her to protect, everything she was trained to fight for.
They call him The White Dragon.
He is a king, an usurper, a radical.
He’s also claimed Alexis as his mate.
Book 3
The gates are closed.
The world could be plunged forever into darkness.
And Alexis, the last Lightbringer…
Is a Lightbringer no more.
Alexis got them through the last portal.
She saved her friends, saved her world from the dark beings known as The Others.
She got them all away.
Well… most of them.
Now, everything she thought she won appears to be lost. The gates she’d closed to save them might never open again, leaving her world cut off from the light of the forces of good. Worse, Alexis might be the last person in the manifest worlds who can save any of them.
She’s lost her Lightbringer magics.
She can’t summon a dimensional portal. She can’t even cast a basic finder spell. Everything she once was, every power she once wielded, appears to be gone, and she has no idea if it will ever come back.
She’s stuck living as a human, in a world that desperately needs a Lightbringer. She has friends to protect, the last of her kind stranded in another dimension, a boyfriend to send back to his home world… a whole multiverse that needs her.
To make matters worse, The Others haven’t finished with her, or finished trying to conquer her world. When they come after her this time, she’s not the same being she was. She’s not the Lightbringer. She’s just a regular person.
A regular person who has to somehow hold back the worst darkness this world has ever known.
Book 4
The Others exist on her world now.
In her dimension. Harming her people.
The bad news is, they have perhaps always been here.
Alexis lost all her powers when she closed the last portal. Her lover, her partner, nearly died, stabbed and shot by the remaining members of his family.
Now they’ve returned to Los Angeles, knowing only that they are running out of time.
She saved her friends, saved her world from the dark beings known as The Others… only to find out they have been here all along, that they never left, and now their dark magicks are fighting a final battle for the soul of her world.
Everyone believes only Alexis can save them.
To do so, first she must conquer her own demons, her own weaknesses, her own fears, and relearn the true meaning of what it means to be a Lightbringer.
She also must find a cure for a mysterious spell that’s knocked out more than half her allies before they could join the fight.
With the help of a Hollywood fire angel, the fire angel’s grumpy, possibly-deadly angel boyfriend, a coven of witches, a werewolf pack, a necromancer, and the woman who raised her, Alexis has one more shot at keeping evil from dominating her world’s future.
It might just mean doing the one thing Alexis can never seem to make herself do.
Trust people.
Trust people, even when they’ve given her every reason not to.
Not go it alone.
Not try to do everything herself.
It goes against everything she’s ever been taught, everything drilled into her from her earliest childhood, every hard lesson she’s ever been forced to learn. But she may have no choice… not if she wants to keep her husband, her friends, and her family alive.
The fourth and final installment of the Light & Shadow series!
