Book 1
Long ago, humans lost control of Athoze to the magical Praediti. They get all of the best jobs, make all of the decisions, and humans are left to fight over the scraps and do whatever it takes to survive. Four months after their victory at Deadrun, Kato and Azrian try to regroup back in Embermeadow. While Azrian settles back into his job as a blacksmith, Kato takes on a new role that brings him peace — a role that might actually do some good.
But when Azrian's powers mysteriously return after an unexpected visit, they're tossed right back into the life they tried to leave behind, and this time, the stakes are even higher.
As the history of Athoze and the enemies they're up against become clearer, so do the roles they have yet to play.
