Alex Reynolds, his lover Peter and his mother Jean are more than slightly inconvenienced when the CIA stashes an Iraqi military defector in their suburban Chicago home. The defector, who turns out to be involved with a terrorist organisation, mysteriously disappears, leaving Alex, Peter and Jean under the watchful eye of both the CIA and the terrorist group.
