First Infraction

Keep your head down. Don’t make any enemies. And whatever you do, never let them see your wings.

I’ve lived my whole life in a gilded cage, protected by my family but never able to show my true face to the world. So I did what any rebellious, hot-blooded teenage faery would do—I tricked them all and took off to live my own adventure.

Too bad it ended in murder.

Now I’m locked up inside the walls of Oberon Faery Reformatory, where no one knows my true identity. Well, almost no one.

A note written by an anonymous author, calling me out for who I really am, wrecks my plans for escaping this awful place. Because if it gets out that Princess Aurora Finley Oberon was locked up for murder and has been Glamouring her true appearance her whole life, it could ruin the cohesive world my parents have worked so hard to build.

So, until I figure out who wrote this note and neutralize the threat, I have to stay here. I have to keep my true self hidden, which means no one can see my power or my wings—both of which would be a dead giveaway that I’m not the normal faery I appear to be.

I also have to keep my mind off a certain smoking-hot inmate with a huge chip on his shoulder who seems determined to knock me off my proverbial throne. Asher calls me Princess, like it’s the ultimate insult. If he only knew…

There’s something off about this place and the archaic faery who created it. I just have to figure out what it is, who wrote that note, and find a way to escape, all while resisting the magnetic pull of Asher York.

Easy, right?

Second Transgression

by Wendi L. Wilson

Published 28 March 2020

In the confines of Oberon Reformatory, it’s often easy to do the wrong things for the right reasons.

I’ve done it. Somehow, I’ve convinced Echo Oberon that I respect and admire him, and that I am grateful for his offer to tutor me. And that I humbly accept his magnanimous proposal.

But just when everything seems to be going exactly to plan, the whole thing blows up in my face. Echo is not as susceptible to my false admiration as I thought, and somehow coerces me into revealing the true extent of my powers—which gets me sent straight into solitary confinement.

When my stint in solitary is over, everything has changed. I know what I have to do.

Alienate my new friends. Prove to Echo Oberon I have no one and nothing. Get back in his good graces and solve this mystery by myself, so no one else has to suffer.

Especially Asher York. Despite my attempts to keep my distance, he’s worked his way into my heart—which means he’d be the first one to get hurt if this whole plan goes south. And I care enough about him to push him away before that happens.

With words I can’t take back, I wound those closest to me and sever all ties.

But in the end, the one who takes the most damage is me.

Final Offense

by Wendi L. Wilson

Published 29 September 2020

The Con Crew is finally back together, but are we powerful enough to defeat Echo Oberon?

Well, I did it. I’ve earned Headmaster’s trust and am poised to become the leader he wants me to be. I’ve made amends with my friends, and I get a huge surprise when a certain blonde faery shoves her way into our group, determined to help.

Just when I think everything is falling into place, things take a turn for the worst. I made a mistake, thinking I could outsmart Echo so easily.

Because he is not as clueless as we think. He makes a dangerous discovery, putting all of us—and our plan—in grave danger.

I have to put everything on the line to save someone important to me, break the magical spell that keeps the reformatory’s secrets, and somehow convince a bunch of inmates that the risk of revolution is worth the reward.

That if we all band together, we will be victorious.

If we all band together, we will be free.
