Like Bruno Taut's glass pavilion and Mies van tier Rohe's glass projects in the first half of this century, the Hauer-King House forms a landmark in the history of glass houses, taking glass architecture forward into the new millennium. Future Systems, one of the most innovative practices in the world today, have, created a showcase: the house exemplifies the architects' space-age aesthetic. The use of glass creates a sense of weightlessness and transparency, yet the exterior conceals a functional domestic home in which every element has been carefully designed to create a comprehensive, modern living environment.
