The volume presents compounds of boron with nitrogen and with fluorine and updates the preceding supplement series. The majority of the boron-nitrogen compounds includes amine-boranes (more than 250 compounds), pyrazaboles, and nitrogen-substituted boron cations. Emphasis is placed also on ammonium borates and on three- and four-coordinate boron-nitrogen compounds containing B-O bonds. In the fluorine part, special attention was given to BF3 and to the tetrafluoroborates. As many as 500 recent publications on applications of BF3 and its etherate have been evaluated. Ions, radicals, and neutral compounds containing only B, F, and partly also H or O are discussed. Moreover, linear and cyclic organylfluoroboranes and aminofluoroboranes and their adducts are treated. Peroxy species are found among the OxBFy-group compounds with four-coordinate boron.
