The Mark of Thorn
2 primary works
Book 1
Gabriel, blind and scarred, wanders aimlessly, haunted by memories of his lost love. He remembers the thorns that took his eyes better than he remembers her face. To him, his life is nothing. He exists only to suffer.
It takes meeting a woman with scars similar to his own—a woman who has her own memory of thorns—for Gabriel to realize that he has a greater purpose than he thought. Unknown to him, his wounds have been touched by magic, and only those who bear the mark of thorn stand a chance in defeating the wicked sorceress who cursed them.
In a dark world where the grimmest of fairy tales exist, three characters cross paths in a tavern, leading them on an adventure none of them expected. They live in a world where magic is rampant, and humanoid animals are a common sight.
In this world, several fairy tales are happening at once, and they overlap each other in a mature, complex story of good and evil.
Book 2
A beauty, a beast, a blind royal, and a feline demi-human: mismatched as they are in a world of prejudice and dark magic, the travelers continue on their path to finding a third who is marked by thorns, so that they might face an evil sorceress. But the past has many old ghosts. Though to aim for a greater good is admirable, personal beliefs cannot be cast aside so readily – especially where debts are owed.
Book of Beauty is the second book in the Mark of Thorn saga. In this epic dark fantasy series, several fairy tales are happening at once, and they overlap each other in a mature, complex story of good and evil.
