Based on the author's own Effective Technical and Human Implementation of Computer-based Systems (ETHICS) methodology, this book provides a participative approach to identifying information needs before embarking on the design of a management information system. ETHICS has been developed by the author over the years to ensure that the non-technical aspects of systems design are handled effectively and without stress. The three key objectives are: future computer system users at all levels play a major part in the design of such systems; specific job satisfaction elements are an integral part of the design specification; ensuring that any new system is surrounded by a compatible, well-functioning, organizational system.
