North from Idaho

by Jeff Sadler

Published 30 August 2004
The minute Anderson landed at the remote Idaho rail station, he knew he'd find trouble. Some people out there were expecting him and wanted him dead. They'd started with a bushwhacking at the station house. And when that didn't work they kept right on trying. Just like he knew they would. When he woke up in a funeral parlour after a saloon gunfight, Anderson thought it couldn't get much worse, but pretty soon he realised he was wrong. From Idaho the trail led north into the Canadian wilderness, where a bunch of outlaw killers waited. Anderson found some friends, but he was going to need them, and plenty of luck, if he were to back the odds and come out alive!

Bounty hunter Jonathan Grimm - the man they called the Reaper - took a break from his man-hunting to attend a family wedding. But a shooting on the doorstep hurled him plumb back into his man-chasing role. Then, what started out as a straightforward chase ran him smack into hard-case gunmen aiming to cut him down. And there was a complication: at the tail end of his life, how could he afford to keep taking chances and tangling with younger, trigger-happy gunnies? But one thing was a dead cert - before the last man was left standing a hell of a lot of lead was going to fly.
