A series of books that introduces simple machines and how they work. Full-colour photographs illustrate how we use these machines in our everyday lives. Each spread comprises a descriptive photograph plus clear, easy-to-understand text to interest the young reader in basic physics. New words are set in bold and appear with short explanations in a comprehensive glossary. Each book contains a how to make activity page, a list of books for further reading and an index. LEVERS explains the principles of pivoting and the different types of lever. Familiar objects are depicted in photographs to aid understanding.
