This collection of short fiction, poetry, and non-fiction offers "quick reads", arranged thematically and relevant to the English, history, geography, RE and science curricula at Key Stages 1 and 2. The material, chosen primarily for reading aloud, is organized into the following themes: who am I?; wonderful to behold; past and present; winners and losers; what makes things tick?; the world we live in; and beginnings and endings. Each theme contains a 40/60 mix of KS1 and KS2 material, with photocopiable pages.
