This text supports the teaching of non-fiction writing for Key Stage 1. It contains one-off activities in each of the non-fiction writing genres and it aims to help teachers introduce and develop specific aspects of the writer's craft within meaningful learning contexts which encourage children to use their own knowledge and skills. It contains practical advice and theoretical support to enable teachers to respond appropriately and constructively to children's strengths and weaknesses as writers.
