Looks at the ideas behind the Education 2000 Project, an exciting pilot scheme pioneered by schools in Letchworth. The ideas were carefully debated by a group of experts so that the scheme represented a consensus of educational opinion, in contrast to the government's enforced introduction of City Technology Colleges. The author shows how ideas borrowed from this successful pilot scheme have been put into practice all over the country and how they are relevant to the development of our education system into the next century.
