Book 1
As Britain lifts out of recession, the author suggests that the tension placed on the relationship between archaeologists and developers by current legislation will reach a crisis point - and archaelogists will be the losers. He declares that conservation techniques, such as deep piling, are causing untold damage and that by shying away from the pursuit of new knowledge through excavation, archaeologists are losing the support of both the public and developers.
