Make it a "community effort" in your classroom to build fluency and analytical skills through these engaging primary source documents. While learning about local government, community jobs, and government leaders, students develop fluent and meaningful oral reading, as well as vocabulary and word decoding skills. Included with each text is a history connection, a vocabulary connection, and extension ideas to meet the needs of all students. Primary sources are included in print and digital form. This teacher resource is aligned to state and national standards and supports college and career readiness.
