Glister and her father live at Chilblain Hall – home to an orchard with a remarkable collection of trees. Not least, the very special Butterworth Tree. It is said that when the Butterworth Tree blooms, a bumper crop of Butterworth relatives from past, present and future will fall. Of course, Glister longs to have a big family and dreams of cosseting aunts and devoted uncles, hoping upon hope that the tree may even bear fruit of the famed Butterworth Giant... Then, one day, her dream finally comes true. Indeed, a bumper crop of relatives does fall, but they are not so keen on playing Happy Families and soon Glister needs a swift and effective plan to stop the Butterworths from pulling themselves and Chilblain Hall apart, with quite astonishing results!

The first in a jaunty new series for younger girls told in comic-strip featuring the delightfully eccentric Glister Butterworth – girl-magnet for the weird and the unusual.
Strange things happen around Glister Butterworth. (Frightfully inconsiderate it is, too.) Occasionally the strange things begin with a knock at the door … or sometimes a nice cup of tea. When a very rare teapot arrives on the Butterworth’s doorstep (with no name, and no address) Glister and her father raise a slight eyebrow, but waste no time putting the kettle on. You see, it’s not uncommon for the unexpected and the unexplained at Chilblain Hall, and there’s always room for tea. Having said that, haunted tea is really quite a different story. And indeed it was… As Glister helps the ghost in the teapot to fulfil his very final wish, she starts to uncover another of Chilblain Hall’s surprising and charming secrets.

The second in a fun new series for younger girls told in comic-strip featuring the delightfully eccentric Glister Butterworth – girl-magnet for the weird and the unusual.
Strange things happen around Glister Butterworth. (Frightfully inconsiderate it is, too.) Occasionally the strange things begin with a knock at the door … or sometimes a careless word or two. Chilblain Hall may well be a little tumbledown, have creaky timbers and a certain unpredictable air, but it still has feelings. Just like you or me. So it’s quite easy to see how the Butterworths' home got in a huff, uprooted and left after overhearing Mr Swarkstone – a man with his eye firmly on the prize for best Bonny Village – call it some pretty dreadful and damning names. Now homeless, lonely and bored without Chilblain Hall, Glister must find a way to persuade her dearest home and friend
back to where it belongs…
