A&E doctor Dominic Tate is used to the commitment free, bachelor lifestyle. His comfortable position is quickly turned upside down when he discovers he is a father, and only his blood can possibly save the life of the premature infant.

A new life.



Jane Wilson is now the new ward manager of the Special Care Baby Unit at the Wolds hospital. After nursing her dying husband for three years, she decides to put behind her the hopes of having a family and concentrate on the work she loves.



But then she finds herself working for consultant Chris Fielding - who has problems with a nearly-ex wife. Jane and Chris are drawn together- even more so because both have suffered.



Can they find happiness together?


Senior House Officer Dr Kim Hunter is new to the Special Care Baby Unit at the Wolds Hospital but she takes to the work at once. It's new, it's hard but it is so rewarding.



Her immediate superior is Specialist Registrar Dr Harry Black and she starts to learn from him at once. The attraction between the two moves swiftly from the professional to the personal. She loves him, thinks he loves her. But Harry is fearful of commitment and it takes Kim quite a while to understand, to help him lay the ghosts from his past.
