Book 4

Progress toward the full publication of the Nuzi archives in the Harvard Semitic Museum has moved forward again with the publication of this volume. Dr. Morrison's study of the Eastern Archives combines both archaeological and philological data bringing order to the organization of the Eastern Archives and showing how they might have been grouped originally when excavated. She suggests, furthermore, additional avenues of research to follow in the analysis of other segments of the Nuzi archives.

The second part of the late E. R. Lacheman's Excavations at Nuzi, volume 9 is also published in this volume. Texts selected for publication were chosen to coordinate with Morrison's study. In addition to a catalog of the texts, over 240 pages of hand copies are presented, many for the first time.
