This updated reader is a compilation of current newspaper, magazine, and journal articles relating to issues in American history. "Annual Editions: American History, Volume 1" is designed for non-specialized survey courses. This text presents a fair sampling of articles that incorporate newer approaches to the study of history as well as more traditional ones. The sources from which these essays have been taken, for the most part, are intended for the general reader.
