Today, as America's only fully airborne qualified division, the 82nd is the spearhead of the US Army's quick-reaction forces - the first unit into any world trouble spot - as it proved in the recent Gulf War. The division accorded the military and aviation photographer Mike Verier unlimitied access during several lengthy visits to the 82nd's headquarters at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
