Books in the uncommonly attractive new "My Pet" series are written and designed primarily for the instruction of prospective and inexperienced pet owners. "My Pet" books resemble Barron's popular "Pet Owner's Manuals" in appearance and general content, but are produced in a slightly larger trim size and include even more color photos and sidebars throughout each book, as well as unusually attractive photo-filled and information-packed front and back cover flaps. "My Dog" instructs on virtually all aspects of canine care, including feeding, grooming, health care, training, exercise, and play. The author's general advice, which applies both to purebreds and mixed breeds, emphasises humane training and developing the joys of companionship between humans and dogs.
