Jimi Hendrix is one of the most influential figures in rock music, bringing unparalleled vision and craziness to the electric guitar. His early concerts in England attracted pop luminaries such as Pete Townsend and Eric Clapton and the first single released by The Jimi Hendrix Experience, "Hey Joe", went straight into the UK Top Ten. This was followed by "Purple Haze". His early death under mysterious circumstances (the coroner returned an open verdict) only added to his reputation as an enigmatic genius. This book looks at his life and work.
