This volume provides guidance on the cleaning of oil storage tanks. This code is an updated edition of Part 16 of the Institute of Petroleum "Model Code of Safe Practice in the Petroleum Industry". The objective of the code is to collect together in one volume detailed advice on the specific hazards and ways of dealing with them in cleaning tanks of the types commonly used for the storage of crude oil and liquid petroleum products.
