Accompanying a series of three resource books, this guide for teachers develops a number of spoken language modes for primary school children, aged seven to 11. The books aim not only to develop pupils' competence in the use of spoken language, but also to develop listening skills. Motivation to listen to others is built into the tasks, leading to co-operative discussion techniques and a willingness to consider alternative viewpoints.
