This volume points to the need for innovation in the UK construction industry, as stressed by government Movement for Innovation Initiative, the Rethinking Construction report led by Sir John Egan, and the DTI White Paper on UK competitiveness. It states that in response to this, BSRIA, in association with the DETR and other interested members of the construction industry, has compiled a series of ideas in the format of 23 simple, easy to use A4-size data sheets, to promote and disseminate innovative ideas and concepts within the industry. Lists the benefits of the ideas outlined, including - reduction in installation labour ranging from 34% to 90%, reduction of installation costs from 5% to 70%, increased client satisfaction, and improved working practices and buildability.
