Ornamental Grasses

by Alan R. Toogood

Published 4 April 1991
In the last two decades ornamental grasses have been more frequently used by the gardening public. The number of varieties have gradually increased as instances of global collection and exchange have also increased. This book informs the reader where ornamental grasses can be grown and how they should be looked after. Ornamental grasses can be liberally used among other plants in mixed and herbaceous borders, contrasting with many of the broad-leaved plants, and they can be planted in gravel areas or in tubs. Distinctive varieties can be planted as isolated specimens in lawns or by pools and others can be used as screens or for ground cover.
