This text is part of a series which is designed to accompany the Intermediate Modern Studies course in Scotland. It is structured so that Intermediate level students can work by themselves, allowing teachers to spend time on Higher level pupils. Each chapter opens with a list of key points to be covered, contains activity boxes with numbered questions, and closes with a sample assessment covering the issues raised. Questions and activities are structured in difficulty and address both knowledge and understanding as well as evaluation responses. Questions at the end of each chapter differentiate between Intermediate 1 and Intermediate 2 ability levels.
