This is one of a series designed to help teachers planning a site visit. Historical background is combined with a variety of possible study approaches, documentary sources and photocopiable activity sheets for classroom and on-site work, together with practical information about the site. This book focuses on two Suffolk castles, Framlingham and Orford, both of which have substantial remains and are a visual basis for the study of the past and a starting point for activities extending across the curriculum. The castles can be studied as entities in themselves or used to illustrate a particular period, the locality or different types of fortification.
