Clwyd Limestone

by Mark Glaister and Lee Proctor

Published 1 July 2005
The 2015 Clwyd Limestone Rockfax covers a wealth of traditional and sport climbing. From the magnificent Eglweseg valley, through the popular sport routes in the quarries above the village of Trevor, and on to the two trad cliffs of Pandy Outcrop and Pontesford Rocks. Since the previous Clwyd Limestone Rockfax in 2005 the area has seen around 250 new routes developed and significant re-gearing of older lines. The area is now living up to its potential as a destination in its own right of as a regular stop-off on journeys to or from North Wales. The previous Rockfax book to Clwyd has been a major contributing factor in the boom in visitors to the area. The area is now a popular destination for travelling climbers and this book is the only one that covers the climbing. It is produced in the customary high standard that climbers now demand featuring full-colour photo-topos and loads of action photos and maps.

El Chorro is one of the legendary climbing areas of Spain. Famous for its iconic gorge, it has suffered from rumours of access problems over the years. Meanwhile the local climbers have been steadily developing the areas around the gorge with brilliant routes, both single and multi-pitch. Access is no longer a problem and the whole area is now thriving as a major destination for climbers, walkers and visitors attracted to the Caminito - the redeveloped walkway down the Gorge.

El Chorro

by Mark Glaister

Published 1 December 2008
The first Rockfax guidebook to El Chorro was published way back in 1994. Since then it featured in the three very successful editions of "Costa Blanca", "Mallorca" and "El Chorro" but the last of these was published in 2001 and sold out in 2004. This new book will fill the information gap. The book will use the latest Rockfax photo-topo style and be in full colour throughout. All the crags are being revisited, and all the new routes are being added. We are also expanding the coverage with a host of new venues.
