Over 200 photographs chronicle the history of Middlesex County Cricket Club, its players, personalities and surroundings since its early days. The title exmaines the development of Lord's - the ground used by the county for the majority of its home matches - to the Lord's we are familiar with at the end of the 20th century.

Chronicles the history of Queen's Park Rangers FC, from its early beginnings in the Southern League through the Third Division (South) days right up to the present. Starting with the founding of the club in 1882, the author goes on to describe the Southern League Championship in 1907/8 and 1911/12, and the Southern Charity Cup in 1912/13. He details the Third Division (South) years, including the Championship in 1947/48 and promotion into the Second Division in 1967/68, 1972/73 and 1982/83. The club's 118 year history has seen some footballing greats, all featured and illustrated in this work. They include such names as Evelyn Lintott, George Goddard, Ivor Powell, Tony Ingham, Ron Springett, Rodney Marsh, Mike Keen, Stan Bowles, Terry Venables, Gerry Francis, Clive Allen, Simon Stainrod, Alan McDonald, Danny Maddix, Les Ferdinand and Kevin Gallen.
