The "Into Technology" series is designed for progression and continuity in the development of technology skills. It offers teachers a progressive course across a range of contexts which children should find both relevant and interesting. The books may be used as a broadly-based, structured scheme, or as a progressive thematic scheme. It is also written especially for a revised and slimmer curriculum. The series provides complete coverage of Key Stage 2 National Curriculum Technology and the Technology Attainment Outcome within Environmental Studies from 5-14, P3-P7. It consists of five pupils' textbooks: one for each year of KS2 (P3-P6); and a fifth book supporting P7 classes in Scotland, and more able pupils in England and Wales. There are also two accompanying teacher resource books. The scheme's versatility allows it to be used in two ways: as a structured scheme where the activities in the book are used as the basis for one year's work; and as a thematic scheme where the activities relating to one context across the five books link together to provide a progressive topic.
This teacher resource book includes 30 photocopiable pages of additional activities, templates and record sheets. Each double-page spread represents one unit of work in technology which can span approximately one week. The left-hand pages focus on technology in society. The right-hand pages focus on design activity.
