This short novella tells the story of the brutal murder of 32 residents of an exclusive estate in West London, one summer morning. The story is told in the form of a forensic diary, kept by the deputy psychiatric adviser to the Police, Dr Richard Greville. J.G. Ballard also wrote "The Day of Creation", "Empire of the Sun", "Myths of the Near Future" and "The Unlimited Dream Company".
